Alicia Richardson holds a first class honours in art history, where she first wrote about luxury goods in a thesis on the trade of precious stones, exotic perfumes, rare ingredients and fabrics between the Middle East and Venice during the Renaissance. Studying the origins of coveted natural materials and examining closely their physical qualities, Alicia considers how technical craftsmanship brings to light their unique properties and transforms them into exquisite products. The ability to notice subtleties in the finish and variations of luxury goods lends her a particular sensitivity as she writes about the ways in which we are drawn to objects through the power of our senses. She graduated with a Masters in Business specialising in the marketing of luxury and works full-time in London within an international group of luxury goods.
