Fendi completes the restoration of the Temple of Venus and Roma
Fendi became a patron of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo in June 2019 in order to restore the largest temple of ancient Rome, the Temple of Venus and Roma. Built during the reign of the emperor Hadrian in 121 AD, it comprises over 200 columns of gray granite where Proconnesio marble surrounds the spaces dedicated to the two goddesses.
The first space, facing the Colosseum, is dedicated to Venus Felix, the goddess of nature. The second, facing the Capitol, is dedicated to the goddess Roma Eterna. Following the restoration the temple set the stage for the July 2019 Fendi fashion show. It continues a long-standing relationship between Fendi and the world of art and culture, which has also entailed other philanthropic initiatives to protect archeological sites in Rome.
Il Tempo di Venere e Roma was published on the 11th January to commemorate the completion of the restoration and enhancement of the Temple of Venus and Rome.
